Walking up to Luke's preschool this morning.

Luke:  It's soo cold.

Me:  Yes it is.

Luke: My eyeballs are cold.

Me:  Mine are too.

Luke: (laughs) That's cold.

Luke:  Mommy I want to watch an episode

Me: Ok, but after that I want you to play.

Luke:  With you?  Can I play with you?

Me: Sure, I'll play with you.

Luke: Yay!  I'm so excited, I can't wait!

I sure will miss these days when Luke no longer wants to play with me.

Health Freak!

Since Twinkies are endangered and my husband happened to bring some from work, we thought that it would be cool to watch Luke eat probably his first and only.

Me: Luke, I am going to give you a very special treat.  You may never get a chance to have one ever again.

Luke: (excited) Wow, let me have it!
I opened it up and he took one bite, stood up from his chair, walked over to the garbage can and threw it away.

Me: Hey, why did you throw it away?

Luke: I don't like it, can I have a different treat?

Me: Sure, what would you like?

Luke: Fruit

Honorable mention

This happened a month or so ago but it's too funny not to mention. My niece was getting baptized, I was talking about it to Luke.

Me: Makayla is going to be baptized on Sunday.

Luke: No! She can't.

Me: Why?

Luke: She can't get her bow wet!

Luke: What happened to your lamp?

Me: Daddy had to take it to the Condo.

Luke: Why?

Me: Because there aren't a lot of lights in there.

Luke: I'll tell you why.

Me: Ok, why?

Luke: Because.  It was raining and thundering and lightning and raining some more and the lights went out.  A guy bumped his head and couldn't get get up in the morning.  You know, that happens sometimes in the rain.

Luke stayed the night over Nana and Papa's last night.  Nana sent me an email asking if Luke is supposed to wear two pair of underwear.  I of course responded, no and asked why.  He told Nana he wears two pair of underwear to keep his butt warm.  

Today, Nana sent me this email:

To Oliver:  I love you

To Momma:  I love you, Momma

To Daddy:  Not yet (he does not want to come home yet).

Luke and I were doing Thomas the Train puzzles.

Luke: Thomas and Percy are best friends.

Me: Who's your best friend?

Luke: (After thinking about it for a minute) Well, I have Parker.

Me: Oh, Parker's your best friend?

Luke: Not yet.

Me: Not yet? Why?

Luke: Because he still wears diapers.

Me: So when he stops wearing diapers he will be?

Luke: Yes. Yes he will.
